Description
This High School Diploma Credit carrying course covers topics in U.S. History required at Indian Creek High School for college preparation and is specially designed for academic instruction in English. Offered over two semesters, this course will examine the social, political, and economic history of the United States from the American Revolution through the current war on terror. Students will work through required readings using both primary and secondary sources to investigate the social, political, and economic practices that have shaped the United States of America. Supplementary materials and live, online instruction will help students understand cause and effect relationships, influential decisions, and historical evidence. Guided instruction throughout the course will support the development of English language skills within the context of the subject matter and individual assignments will emphasize critical thinking skills. Ultimately, students are expected to demonstrate their comprehension through their ability to communicate historical knowledge in written and oral formats.
