Description

The Sheltered U.S. History curriculum has the dual purpose of immersing international students in a comprehensive high school American History class while at the same time giving them the opportunity to develop stronger language, research, and study skills in preparation for the rigors of college in the United States.

Objectives

The students will pursue selected topics in depth through the use of primary sources and supplemental materials and online group discussions. They will complete one research project each semester. Students may showcase their research by using a variety of platforms, which may include video, multimedia, app design, a page for a social media site, as well as the traditional research paper, posters, and oral presentations.
